Jet Process technology offers manufacturers a powerful solution to streamline operations by minimising the number of processing vessels required, conserving energy, and enhancing product quality. A recent implementation of this technology demonstrated its efficiency, occupying a footprint of just 120 square metres while producing 18,000 kilograms of wet pet food per hour—all managed by a single operator.
In conventional wet pet food processing, multiple jacketed or pressure vessels, emulsifiers, heat exchangers, and retorts are required to achieve high-temperature sterilisation. This setup demands significant floor space, frequent maintenance, and annual pressure testing. Additionally, the multi-stage process consumes vast amounts of energy and water, with large volumes of caustic chemicals needed to clean and remove burn-on residues. Depending on the throughput, considerable labour may also be necessary to manage these operations.
Our Jet Process technology utilises high-speed jet entrainment for powders such as gums, gels, vitamins, and hydrocolloids. This advanced system rapidly entrains, heats, mixes, and hydrates powders to their required temperature in just minutes. The fully automated process then transfers the mixture to an unjacketed processing vessel, where additional ingredients such as meat, vegetables, water, and rice are incorporated.
By integrating these steps, Jet Process technology not only reduces operational complexity but also significantly lowers energy consumption and maintenance requirements, making it a highly efficient and cost-effective solution for modern pet food manufacturing.
